Leadership Skills Training
January 12th
Participants will build confidence in their leadership skills by taking part in team building activities. There will be multiple guest speakers throughout the day.
Nonprofit Day
February 2nd
Nonprofit day will serve as an opportunity for the future leaders of our community to learn about ways in which they can serve those less fortunate. Multiple nonprofits will share with the group their mission and how the community can help.
Economic Development
February 23rd
Participants will learn about the state, chamber and various agencies' roles in economic development.
Education Session
March 16th
Learn from the Wake County Public Schools about issues and questions pertaining to public schools and the status of our nationally recognized school system. Participants will also learn about community colleges and the NC college system.
Cultural Arts & Entertainment
April 13th
Art and entertainment flourishes in Cary. Pieces of art are all around town and on business campuses in Cary. Entertainment, including sports and recreation are also a major part of our community. Learn the value of art in our community as well as the surrounding area
Health & Medical Services
May 4th
Participants will hear from our area hospitals to discuss general community hospital impacts and issues: WakeMed Cary Hospital, UNC Rex Healthcare, and Duke Health.
Innovation Day
May 27th
This session will inform participants about innovation and entrepreneurship in the area.
Cary, Wake County & North Carolina Government/Law Enforcement & Crime
June 15th
Government officials including Cary Town Council, Wake County Commissioners and members of the NC House and NC Senate will present to the group in order to give participants an in-depth look into how our government works. They will also hear from guest speakers from the Cary Police Department and other law enforcement agencies concerning crime.
Graduation
June 23rd
The Leadership Cary class will be recognized at the monthly Eye Opener Breakfast.
