Leadership Skills Training
Participants will build confidence in their leadership skills by taking part in team building activities. There will be multiple guest speakers throughout the day culminating with a kickoff social.

Nonprofit Day
Nonprofit day will serve as an opportunity for the future leaders of our community to learn about ways in which they can serve those less fortunate. Multiple nonprofits will share with the group their mission and how the community can help. This will also serve as the first session in which the participants will participate in a community service project.

Health & Medical Services
Participants will meet at WakeMed Cary Hospital to participate in an optional health assessment and discuss general community hospital impacts and issues.

Cultural Arts & Entertainment
Art and entertainment flourishes in Cary. Pieces of art are all around town and on business campuses in Cary. Entertainment, including sports and recreation are also a major part of our community. Learn the value of art in our community as well as the surrounding area.

Economic Development
Participants will learn about the state, chamber and various agencies' roles in economic development. It will also include a tour of a major facility, and finish with a social at The Umstead Hotel & Spa.
Tuesday, March 12, 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Education Session
Learn from the Wake County Public Schools about issues and questions pertaining to public schools and the status of our nationally recognized school system. Participants will also learn about community colleges and the NC college system.
Tuesday, April 2, 9:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Media & Innovation Day
This session will inform participants about innovativeness in the area.
Thursday, April 25, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Cary, Wake County & North Carolina Government
Government officials including Cary Town Council, Wake County Commissioners and members of the NC House and NC Senate will present to the group in order to give participants an in-depth look into how our government works.
Thursday, May 9, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Law Enforcement & Crime
Participants will hear from guest speakers from the Cary Police Department and other law enforcement agencies concerning crime. This session also includes a tour of the City-County Bureau of Investigation and the Wake County Jail.
Wednesday, May 22, 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.
Graduation
The Leadership Cary class will be recognized at the monthly Eye Opener Breakfast.
